Vast low tide sand and stone beach in Blue Anchor Bay

Dunster Beach is a vast low tide sand and stone beach that backs onto pebbles. It lines a section of Blue Anchor Bay. There's plenty of parking behind the beach or easy access on the West Somerset Coast Path from Minehead. It's a great place to get away from the crowds. Minehead Beach is to the west and Blue Anchor Beach to the east.

Location of Dunster Beach

The eastern section of Exmoor National Park borders Minehead. The northern section of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty/AONB extends to the coast by West Quantoxhead, East Quantoxhead and Kilve. The coastline between Exmoor and the Quantocks is lined with beaches. Dunster Beach and Blue Anchor Beach are towards the centre of this stretch of coastline.

The West Somerset Railway and the A39 run behind Dunster Beach.

We've positioned Dunster Beach on Google maps. Zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.

Dunster Beach

At low tide, Dunster is a vast sand and stone beach. The West Somerset Coast Path runs along the back of the beach with its bank of pebbles.

Minehead Beach is to the west and Blue Anhcor Beach to the east.

There's a catering trailer selling refreshments.

Note that 'dog walking is only permitted on the public footpath or the roadway ... not the sandy foreshore or picnic area. All dogs must be kept on a lead under strict owner control whilst using our private property'. (Source: information board on site)
